Climbing up a "cork screw tower" in Copenhagen, Denmark

The final episode of our Copenhagen adventures!
These last days, we had a chance to experience some very different aspects of the city.
First, we stopped to see the changing of the guard. The Danish Royal Guard march from Rosenborg Castle to Amalienborg Palace, where the Changing of the Guard ceremony occurs. The ceremony takes place daily, with the guard leaving Rosenborg Castle at 11:30 to arrive at Amalienborg Palace for the ceremony at 12:00.

The next stop was at DAC, Danish Architecture Center. There is a museum dedicated to architecture in Denmark from the Vikings up to today. However, the highlight for us was going down a slide that went down 4 floors. It was so much fun!

Next, we went up to the Church of Our Savior tower, which is interesting because it has a corkscrew shape. Believe me, once you get up to the top, it isn't easy to squeeze the last part unless you are Luca's size!

From there, it was a short walk to Freetown, Christiania. The Christiania residents follow counter-cultural beliefs based on the hippie movement, anarchism, the squatter movement, and collectivism. They fly their flag, have their own currency, and sing their anthem. They don't consider themselves part of Copenhagen, Denmark, or the European Union. It is very interesting to walk through it...

We had such a wonderful time here in Copenhagen and would recommend everyone to spend some time here, especially if you have kids!
