Описание к видео Hiking Mt. Mansfield Vermont / A Quick Start Guide

Mount Mansfield is the highest mountain in Vermont at 4,393 feet at the summit. It is the most visited and hiked mountain in Vermont. Mansfield is a moderate to difficult hike, depending on which way you approach it. This Quick Start Guide will help you to decide the right approach for you. The weather conditions at the trailhead and summit can vary significantly, so be sure to check the weather at both places and plan appropriately. Expect to spend a few hours on the mountain and bring enough water for that time.
There is sensitive plant live in the alpine terrain. Be sure to stay on trail and follow all posted guidance.

The Sunset Ridge Trail is 3.3 miles and 2600' of elevation gain. It is considered to be the easiest of the hikes up Mansfield, but is still a moderate to difficult climb. There are some rock scrambles and areas where hikers may want to "scoot" on the way down.

The Laura Cowels Trail is 2.7 miles and 2600' of elevation gain. It is steeper but more direct than Sunset Ridge and includes the same kinds of challenges.

The Long Trail is a very popular way to access the summit. It is 2.3 miles and 2800' of elevation gain. This trail is also a bit steeper than Sunset Ridge.

The Hell Brook Trail is a challenging climb with more difficult areas including waterfalls and very steep sections. It should be considered one of the most difficult approaches to the summit.

The Stowe Gondola Sky Ride and Auto Toll Road will get you close to the top, but not all the way to the summit without a bit of a hike. The approach from the Gondola is a tough climb and the hike from the toll road still requires 1.3 miles of climbing the remaining 600' of elevation.

Please know you limits and hike within your experience level. Rescue services cannot access the trails quickly. It is advised to hike in pairs or with a group.
