How to Book the Huts on the Alta Via 1 Hike

Do you want to hike the Alta Via 1 in the Italian Dolomites and need help booking the huts? In this video, I’ll walk you through a step-by-step process to do so:

My girlfriend and I hiked the trail in 8 days in September, 2024 and we loved it! Most days we started around 8am and hiked between 8-10 miles and got to our hut at ~2pm.

Here’s the order in which we did the huts:
Day 1: Rifugio Pederu
Day 2: Scotoni Hütte
Day 3: Rifugio Nuvolau
Day 4: Rifugio Città di Fiume
Day 5: Rifugio Tissi
Day 6: Bruto Carestiato
Day 7: Rifugio Pian di Fontana
Day 8: Casa Fantuzzi (night after the hike, upon getting into Belluno)
