Having seen the restoration work and de-extinction science up close, do Stewart Brand and Kevin Kelly think the efforts to clone a mammoth and bring back Siberia's Ice Age ecosystem will work? Watch the full talk: https://theinterval.org/salon-talks/0...

In January 02019 Long Now Board members Kevin Kelly & Stewart Brand, and our Executive Director Alexander Rose spoke at The Interval about their 2018 trip to one of Earth's most remote areas where they witnessed the ongoing restoration of part of Siberia to its Pleistocene-era ecosystem. Renowned geneticist George Church and filmmakers David Alvarado & Jason Sussberg joined the trip which brought back DNA samples to help with mammoth de-extinction, and lots of facts and news about a place where climate change and arctic deep time can be witnessed simultaneously.
