Baby Seal Rescued From Plastic Strap

Plastic strap entanglements are unusual at Cape Cross. They are normally found near the Walvis Bay fish factories where they are commonly used to hold together bait boxes. The sudden increase in plastic strap entanglements at Cape Cross is bad news, seals already have to deal with large amounts of recreational fishing line in this area. We will keep an eye on this alarming development!
