During a Full Super Moon or a full super flower moon, when the Moon is 100 percent illuminated, the lunar orbit and the Sun are on exact opposite sides with the Earth right in the middle.

The Moon does not shine with its own light and instead reflects the Sun's intense glow at us.

And though the moment of full illumination only lasts a brief moment, a Super Moon appears full for about three days centered on the peak.

The moon is also known as super flower moon or super pink moon.

NASA said: "When sunlight hits off the Moon's far side — the side we can't see without from Earth the aid of a spacecraft — it is called a New Super Moon.
