Chest Physiotherapy for infants with Cystic Fibrosis

Описание к видео Chest Physiotherapy for infants with Cystic Fibrosis

Christian Medical College Vellore (CMC Vellore) provides holistic care for children with Cystic Fibrosis (CF), a genetic disease that affects multiple organs and can be fatal if left untreated. A multidisciplinary CF Care Team was developed under the CF-India Project, a collaborative venture between the Department of Paediatrics (Respiratory services), CMC Vellore and the Department of Pulmonary Medicine at Nationwide Children’s Hospital, Columbus, Ohio, USA , supported by the US Cystic Fibrosis Foundation.

The aims of the CF-India project are to create awareness about CF among Indian health care professionals and patients, facilitate early diagnosis, and help initiate basic CF-specific treatment to reduce morbidity and mortality.

Our CF care team is excited to share some educational videos created for parents to provide the best CF-specific care for our patients using resources that are generally available in India. Periodic check-ups with the medical team remain important to reinforce these treatments and address questions and updates.

In this video , Mr. Hari Prathap Reddy, paediatric respiratory therapist explains and demonstrates how chest physiotherapy should be administered to children.
