This Mozart "Sonata pour le Clavecin ou Pianoforte avec l'accompagnement d'un violon" KV 378 was published in 1778.
If the title suggests that keyboard compositions could be played on a new instrument, it does not indicate the change in the status of the violin for works of this kind.
Before composers had created piano sonatas with violin accompaniments, but Mozart's mature works of 1778 begin to integrate the violin and piano parts more closely and highlight the growing independence and virtuosity of the violin.
