My name’s Jason and welcome back to WDS Originals. In today’s episode, we finally reach a massive milestone on the V10 swapped E92 M3, the bespoke MaxxECU wiring harness is FINISHED and installed for its final fit.

Because this build is running a V10 with a DCT gearbox, we need a standalone ECU capable of controlling both and after weeks of planning, pinning, sleeving, labeling and routing, the loom is now complete and sitting beautifully in the car.

🔧 What’s Covered in This Episode
Recap of the wiring journey:
Trigger wires set to length
5V + 12V power supplies added
Grounds completed
BMW plugs repinned into Deutsch connectors for easy engine removal
Loom moved from the engine bay to the bench for:
Full sheathing
Heat shrink finishing
Labeling and final pinning
Finishing the last 25% with Adil:
Wiring in the BSD communication board
Keeping factory functions working (like the oil level sensor on the dash)
Completing the separate injector + coil pack loom on its own plug
Final heat shrink touch-ups after the heat gun gave up
Installing the harness onto the car for the final route and final fit
Under-car + over-bay routing
Making it blend, but still a subtle flex 😄

🌡 Sensors, Standalone Setup & Final Details
To finalise the MaxxECU setup, we also knock out the remaining sensors and upgrades:
Adding an Intake Air Temperature (IAT) sensor into the airbox
Replacing the factory MAF IAT function (we’ve deleted the MAFs)
More room for the carbon air intakes
Oil system sensor integration:
Installing an oil pressure sensor into the remote filter head setup
Extra protection / monitoring:
Adding a remote VANOS accumulator pressure sensor
Useful because accumulator pressure is critical for VANOS operation
Rebuilding the interior to finish the ECU install:
ECU mounted on the passenger side
Wiring tucked away cleanly
Trims refitted so it all looks OEM+

🏁 What’s Next?

Rebuilding the E92 for the final time
Calibrating the MaxxECU setup
Pushing toward a first start very soon
