The annual Chingay Parade, held during the Chinese New Year celebrations showcases the multi cultural nature of Singapore. Chingay literally means costume or masquerade in Hokkien. The parade will see dragon dances and stilt walkers as well as a dazzling display of floats. This year's theme is: Blossoms.
Originally, the parade was conceived as a way of compensating the Chinese community for the ban on the use of firecrackers across the city. The Chingay Parade 2024 promises to be a feast for the senses, with stunning visual effects, intricate costumes, and dynamic choreography.
