Umuahia, the capital of the Abia state, in Nigeria's South-East is undergoing plans to build a six-lane road to give it a more city-like appearance.

At a news conference in Umuahia, the information commissioner for Abia State, Okey Kanu, told the media that the government had already started reconstructing some of the country's worst highways.
