Old Oak Stool

Описание к видео Old Oak Stool

In this video, I demonstrate the process of making a stool from an old oak wind brace. This wind brace holds historical value for me because it, along with a few other old oak logs, is all that remains from the old clay house where my ancestors lived. I dismantled the clay house a long time ago, but I always try to repurpose the remaining wood in a meaningful way, thus preserving the memory of the people who worked on these things once. For this purpose, I also used old rusty nails that I pulled out of the old logs; a blacksmith worked on them around 200 years ago.

This was a spontaneous project. I have already made several interesting stools for my children, but I recently gifted one to an elderly couple who settled near my home, fleeing from russian aggression. They lived near me for about two years, and recently they decided to move closer to their home in the hope that they would be able to visit their home more often. Their city is still being shelled by the russian army.

I haven't posted any new videos for a while. We have had severe power outages. Russian terrorists have damaged many civilian infrastructure objects in Ukraine. Complete disregard for human life and constant terror – that is true russia.

Russian terror must be defeated.
We believe that the world is capable of ensuring this
Our fight against the russian aggressor continues!
Thanks to everyone who stands with Ukraine and supports the Ukrainian people in our struggle for existence.
Stay safe!
Thank you all for watching.
