The Svalich Woods are ancient, the trees grew tall centuries before the valley was plunged into darkness. The forest is blanketed in old growth so thick that moonlight can barely pierce it. These once peaceful woods are now home to beasts and the supernatural.

The mists of Barovia are ever present in the woods; what was once a path could in an instant be shrouded in the mists. You swear you can see figures watching you through the fog.

To tread the winding paths of the Svalich woods at night is to court death itself.
