Overcoming Barriers for a Brighter, Independent Future - Cory's Story

In a world where challenges sometimes feel like they outweigh the triumphs, we meet people like Cory. A remarkable young man who is overcoming challenges to live independently and not define himself by his intellectual disability.

Connecting with one of our support workers (John) proved to be an enormous turning point for Cory. With patience and empathy, he and John embarked on a journey to rebuild Cory's confidence and equip him with the skills needed for independent living and community access. What blossomed from this were new experiences, social connection, and overcoming barriers to regain his independence and confidence.

Whilst Cory's story sits at the very heart of our mission here at Independence Australia, sadly there are many Australians with a disability who need our support to regain their independence.
