Dressing and Bandaging Bleeding and Wounds

Описание к видео Dressing and Bandaging Bleeding and Wounds

In this video we go over how to dress and bandage wounds with different types of gauze and bandages. These techniques are primarily for slower bleeds or wounds rather than severe arterial bleeding that should be treated with wound packing, pressure bandages and tourniquets.

A dressing is the gauze or material that goes on top of the wound. A bandage then is applied to hold the dressing in place. Dressing a wound is important to help contain bleeding but also to protect the area from any further infection from foreign objects and debris.

Here we use 4x4 gauze and combine pads to dress the wounds and then demonstrate application of bandages with gauze rolls, self adhesive Sensi-Wrap and even pressure dressings.

Quickly and properly dressing an open wound can help minimize infection and possibly shorten the recovery and healing time.

Stay vigilant. Stay safe!
