(9 Jul 2020) Young people who helped paint the Black Lives Mural on 5th Avenue in front of Trump Tower on Thursday said they hoped the president hears the message that they want to be respected and loved.
New York City Mayor Bill de Blasio announced the plan to paint "Black Lives Matter" in front of Trump Tower last month after earlier announcing that the slogan would be painted on streets at several locations.
President Donald Trump responded via Twitter that the mural would denigrate "this luxury Avenue."
A handful of Trump supporters protested against the painting of the mural.
