Why The Beatles' "Doctor Robert" is a Better Song Than You Think - Vinyl Friday #86

We're neck deep in Revolver's deep cuts now, in what some might consider the album's doldrums. I disagree! The album maybe front-loaded with the real heavyweights, but that's no reason to sleep on the tracks buried in the middle of side 2!

On the surface, this may seem to be an unusually straightforward song on an album of innovation, but closer examination reveals key changes, plot twists, and a touch of debauchery. This song marries sanctity and sacrilege, and makes us want to boogie besides. And if that weren't enough, I'll have by my side one of my favourite people in the known universe - my sister!

A question: should we keep the comment-singing, or does that need to fall by the wayside?
