Savage Trophy Hunter XP Model 10 .308 Win being returned to Savage

I am returning my new Savage Model 10 Trophy Hunter XP in .308 Win to Savage for repair/replacement. I just bought the rifle about a month ago, and the very first shot I took at the range resulted in a problem. The bolt was locked in place, I could not pull it back to extract the spent cartridge. I took the rifle to my local gun shop where they were able to get the bolt open. The ammo that was stuck was Winchester Power-Point 150 grain, lot A34EM01, 308 Win. Several people looked at the 19 remaining cartridges from this box, and all concluded the ammo was bad. Crimping was irregular, bullet seating was inconsistent, and the crimp area was very rough instead of smooth. An email to Winchester went unanswered.
After a rifle cleaning, I returned to the range with a box of Federal Power Shok 150 grain soft point, 308 Win. I fired 15 cartridges, but fared litle better. While I could open the bolt and extract the spent casings, it required more force than it should have.
A call to Savage is now resulting in a pickup and return of the Model 10 to Savage for service. I am really disappointed, I thought Savage was a quality gun maker, maybe this is a fluke. I'll have to wait on Savage and see how the situation plays out.
