Starter Pokemon Will Never Be the Same

Over the course of 9 generations, starter Pokémon have "evolved" in the way that they're designed. In Pokemon Red and Blue, they started out as basic animals with elemental powers, with Charizard, Venusaur, and Blastoise. Over time, it became normal for the final stages to have a gimmick, such as being a wrestler, singer, etc. With each generation of Pokemon giving us more and more outlandish starter designs, as we can see from the starters of Pokemon Scarlet and Violet, I wanted to take a look back at that progression from simplicity to increasingly more gimmicky starters.
