Japanese Stew ODEN🍢 A Classic and Popular Winter Dish in Japan

Los Angeles weather went from scorching hot to suddenly cool, so I made oden today. I simmered the ingredients that needed to soak up the flavor first, then let them cool to really absorb the broth. When the kids got home, I added the fish cakes and let it simmer some more. Oden takes a bit of effort, but when they finished everything with a big ‘it was so good,’ this mom’s heart was completely full.
