*An Ecclesiology of Outsiders* - The Baptists of Fountain Street

Описание к видео *An Ecclesiology of Outsiders* - The Baptists of Fountain Street

Join us in January for a four-part sermon series as Rev. Dannison takes us on a tour of our history - exploring the evolving expressions of religious thought and ritual at Fountain Street Church. Service begins at 11:00 am in the Sanctuary.

This Week:

Is it true that FSC started out as a baptist church? When did we stop being baptists? What is a baptist? What does it mean when people describe FSC as congregationalist?

Rev. Nathan Dannison explores the radical roots of Baptist history and Fountain Street Church's 200-year legacy in Grand Rapids. Through stories of early Baptist champions of abolition, women's rights, and civil rights, he reveals how these religious outsiders were actually progressive pioneers of social justice. This sermon challenges common misconceptions about Baptist identity while celebrating Fountain Street Church's enduring mission as a home for free thinkers and independent spirits.
