Marcela's story is the story of the importance of trees.

Marcela is from Pontal do Paranapanema, in western Brazil. Here, Ecosia's tree-planting partner in the area, IPÊ, employs local communities to grow the tree saplings they’ll then pay other community members to plant in a massive effort to restore the Atlantic Forest.

Also known as the little sister of the Amazon Forest, the Atlantic Forest is immensely important for biodiversity and human livelihood. Watch Marcela’s story, or how protecting the planet helps people, biodiversity and the economy.
