Ford 7.3 Hydroboost Power Steering Pump Replacement and Bleeding Air Out of the System - Full Video

Описание к видео Ford 7.3 Hydroboost Power Steering Pump Replacement and Bleeding Air Out of the System - Full Video

So I was having an issue where my steering wheel would not turn when I was at a standstill. It didn't matter if i hit the brake or didn't (fluid pressure shared for both) the only thing that would work was revving the engine to a higher rpm and then i could turn. I thought maybe it was bad fluid or air in the system, and flushed the system completely, but it didn't help. I then expected that the pump itself was worn out and wasn't pushing enough fluid, so I bought a new one with reservoir for $65 at Autozone. It is remanufactured, but they also had the pulley puller tool for rent, which was great and free.

Here is a Power Steering Pump for the 7.3 Diesel in case you wanted to order it and have it shipped to your house: https://amzn.to/3vNFoQ9

I hope this video helps you through your project, all in all, it was my first time and it took about 45 minutes total.

This truck is a 1999 Ford F250 2WD with the 7.3L powerstroke Diesel engine. I do think this is likely about the same set of instructions for other years of the 7.3 diesel as it didn't change much, but I can't be sure.
