This film looks at the work of the Bukit Tiga Puluh (BTP) Protection Forum in Central Sumatra, where private landowners have committed to collaborating on long-term landscape protection.

Through the establishment of Wildlife Conservation Areas (WCAs), stakeholders are working to safeguard ecologically important land. However, these green investments face real challenges, including illegal logging, encroachment, wildfires and human–wildlife conflict.

Historically, trust between companies, government and NGOs has been low, making it difficult to address issues at the speed and scale required. The Protection Forum was created with a trusted intermediary to help rebuild collaboration, strengthen dialogue and support practical solutions.

The film highlights how perceptions are beginning to shift, and how stakeholders are becoming better equipped to resolve complex challenges together. Looking ahead, the Forum aims to support land managers and communities in developing sustainable, community-based businesses linked to forest protection.
