What is the world’s tallest statue?

Construction has just finished on the world’s tallest statue! It was built in India to honour, Vallabhbhai Patel, one of the country’s founding fathers but how does it compare to some of the world’s more famous statues?

Turns out, it's a whopping 54 metres taller than the next biggest statue.

1. Statue of Unity (India) – 183 metres (597 ft)
2. Spring Temple Buddha (China) – 128 metres (420 ft)
3. Laykyun Setkyar (Myanmar) -115.8 metres (380 ft)
4. Ushiku Daibutsu (Japan) – 100 metres (330 ft)
5. Sendai Daikannon (Japan) – 100 Metres (330 ft)
6. Qianshou Qianyan Guantin of Weishan (China) – 99 metres (325 ft)
7. Great Buddha of Thailand (Thailand) – 92 metres (302 ft)
8. Dai Kannon of Kita no Miyako park (Japan) – 88 metres (289 ft)
9. Rodina-Mat’ Zoyvot! (Russia) – 85 metres (279 ft)
10. Awaji Kannon (Japan) – 80 metres (260 ft)
