Memory Lane - Cassandra Leong

To conclude my music journey in the Bachelor of Music (Jazz and Improvisation) at The University of Melbourne, I presented a 45-minute final year recital, performing six original pieces with my band. My aim was to make my whole recital into a story, where each piece is viewed as a "chapter" in this unnamed character's life.

"Memory Lane" represents a chapter of celebration of the character’s entire journey. Everything that she has experienced in each chapter eventually becomes a memory forever. There were a lot of lessons learnt and friendships made along the way. There were many mistakes, failures or regrets too. But she’s thankful for every single thing she’s gone through - both the good and bad. Everything worked out for her in the end.
