To install Davinci Resolve on Debian Trixie we have to do the following:

Use the below terminal commands to install the prerequisites
sudo apt install lshw
sudo apt install ffmpeg
sudo apt install distrobox
sudo apt install rocm-podman-support

Download the excellent davincibox from zelikos and follow his guide
https: //github.com/zelikos/davincibox (remove the space after ":")

If you are using an AMD GPU it may be necessary to install OpenCL as well. This is also covered in the davincibox manual.

Under Linux Davinci Resolve does not support h.264/h.265 at least not in the free version. Therefore we have to use ffmpeg to transform our footage into a usable format using this command.

Output with 1 audio source:
ffmpeg -i "your.mp4" -c:v dnxhd -profile:v dnxhr_sq -c:a pcm_s16le "your.mov"
Output with 2 audio sources:
ffmpeg -i "your.mkv" -map 0:v -map 0:a:0 -map 0:a:1 -c:v dnxhd -profile:v dnxhr_sq -c:a pcm_s16le "your.mov"
