Cochin International Airport, Kerela 🇮🇳Earth Lounge| World’s First Fully Solar Powered Airport

Cochin International Airport one of the largest international airports in the country and had its runway expanded in 1960 and 1980. It has set the benchmark by marking itself as the first ever fully solar powered airport in the world.

It is the busiest and largest airport in the state of Kerala and the fourth busiest (in terms of International passengers) airport in India. As of 2024, the airport caters to more than 63% of the total air passenger traffic in Kerala. It is the fifth-busiest airport in India in terms of international traffic and the eighth-busiest overall.
