Making A Hobbit Corset || Redthreaded 1780s Stays

The stays were sewn using modern techniques, using a sewing machine.

The stays were part of my entry to the 2021 Foundations Revealed Competition. The theme this year was "Once Upon A Time...", and creations has to be inspired by particular characters from literature. My entry is "Rosie Cotton (Tolkien’s the Lord of the Rings)".

This 18th Century inspired Hobbit outfit was sewn and modelled by me.
The chemise and quilted petticoat were self-drafted.
