A couple of minutes of the BBC's coverage of the 1999 IAAF World Athletics Championships held in Seville, Spain. It starts with an interview with the German winner of the Women's Shot Put Final, Astrid Kumbernuss. Then highlights of the end of the Men's 50km Walk which was won by Russia's German Skurygin. Later he was disqualified after he tested positive for drugs in November 2001. As a result Italy's Ivano Brugnetti was awarded the gold medal. In 2008 Skurygin at the age of 45 died of a heart attack.
