Hi, I’m Julie Forbes, founder of Sensitive Dog Training and Behavior. For over 20 years, we’ve provided powerful, life-changing guidance to people and their dogs. From puppyhood to end-of-life, we support our clients through every stage, including raising puppies, teaching life skills for dogs of all ages, and addressing behavior challenges such as social challenges, generalized and separation anxiety, and reactivity. At Sensitive Dog, we believe that every dog is an individual with their own unique combination of history, genetics, temperament, current environment, and spirit. Dogs need to be witnessed fully before we can hope to manage or change their behavior. But witnessing alone is not enough. Dogs also need our skillful leadership — clear communication, healthy boundaries, consistency, and structure — so they can feel safe in the world, and secure in our care.

Dogs are empaths. In a world that moves too fast, dogs invite us to slow down and be in the moment. By learning to tune into our dogs, we remember our own animal nature. In order to help our dogs, we need to be conscious of our own energy and emotions. In this way, our dogs can prompt our own evolution.
