The level of difficulty of Quantitative Aptitude and DILR sections has gone up in the past 4 CATs. To address this and to help students make the final leap, we at 2IIM have a dedicated module "Test Dojo" that will focus exclusively on Tests. The Test Dojo will cover all three sections - Verbal Ability, Data Interpretation and Logical Reasoning, and Quantitative Aptitude.

The data is mapped by having Speed on one axis and Accuracy on another axis. In the process, we will have a plane that is divided into 4 quadrants. For each topic, the student can be slotted into one of the 4 quadrants. For example, the student can be very quick and have high accuracy. Then, the student is considered “Strong” in the topic.

Top-Right Quadrant – High Speed and Accuracy (Strength). These are the topics of strength; consolidate these and look to absolutely kill questions from here.

Bottom-Left Quadrant – Low Speed and Accuracy (Weakness). This is an easy quadrant. If small topics are there, dump these. If Geometry is here, take two weeks off everything else and double-down on Geometry

Bottom-Right Quadrant – Low Speed with High Accuracy (Opportunity). Fundamentals are in place; take 100 CAT-Level questions and you should be able to take these to the Strength Quadrant

Top Left Quadrant – High Speed with Low accuracy (Threat). This is a dangerous quadrant. Revisit fundamentals aggressively to ensure that error rate falls sharply. You are likely running too quickly in these topics.

We have measured accuracy on an absolute basis – as in, if you get 7 out of 10 questions correct you have 70% accuracy. We have chosen to measure Speed on a relative basis – speed is computed in the context of the average time taken by every student who has answered the question correctly.

Caveat: Any data-driven insight is only as good as the data underlying it. Do not draw inferences after having taken 5 tests across 3 topics. These charts go close to becoming meaningful only after you have taken 300+ questions (at least)
