2nd Luminary Lecture 2023 - 'India's place in a changing world order' by Ambassador Nirupama Rao

Former Foreign Secretary of India, Ambassador Nirupama Rao, IFS, delivered the 2nd Luminary Lecture for 2023 at CMC Vellore's College Campus on 22 November, 2023. Speaking on the topic 'India's place in a changing world order', Rao reiterated India's position as a leader of the Global South and spoke of a promising future.

The Luminary Lecture series, one of the highlights of the Centenary Year of Medical Education in 2018, was re-started in 2023 towards community building across the many campuses of CMC Vellore. The series aims to feature luminaries from non-medical disciplines, with a focus on humanities, social and environmental issues, etc. to educate, inspire and broaden the knowledge of the CMC community in its understanding of the world at large.

The first Lecture for 2023 was delivered by Ramachandra Guha, one of India's leading historians, on June 21.
