Since a state of emergency was declared in Nigeria in May, states like Borno have been inaccessible for health workers. Despite the insecurity, UNICEF's vaccinators have made inroads throughout the north, including into these areas, and are now immunizing children against measles - one of the leading illnesses of children under 5 years old.
