Title: Upper Makua Cave Hike | Best Hikes on Oahu, Hawaii

Check out this short but very rewarding cave hike on the west side of Oahu, Hawaii. The whole hike is less than 1 mile round trip and not very well known. At the top you are rewarded with an incredible view of the west coast of Oahu.

You can look up Makua or Kaneana Cave on maps and it will take you to a parking lot on the left side of the road where you can park to get to the upper cave. I definitely suggest checking out the bottom cave as well as it is much bigger than the upper portion.

Please remember to be respectful in all the beautiful areas of of Hawaii but especially areas like the Makua/Kaneana Cave as there is cultural significance to it. This cave once held many rituals and religous ceremonies as it was/is believed by some to be the birth place of human creation.
