Assassin's Creed 2 Combat Fighting Guide

0:00 Heavy and Long Weapon grants resistance to Small and Medium Weapon Counter Kill
Brute and Seeker do not resist Small and Medium Weapon Counter Kill. If Milita would pick up Heavy or Long Weapon, he would gain Small and Medium Weapon Counter Kill resistance.
0:13 Fist Finisher
When you disarm any enemy (not only Brute) and he is left with 1HP, he can be killed with Fist finisher if you will attack quickly.
0:24 How to Scare Brute
Kill his fellow soldiers. Disarm him. Don't let him pick up any weapon.
0:34 Breaking Enemy's Grab
Enemy's Grab may occure when one of enemies (not only Brute) has no weapon but his fellow soldiers are involved in combat. To break free hold high profile and mash open hand button.
0:42 Lock Off Small Weapon Attack - Stagger Kill
While being Locked Off, quickly attack two times with Small Weapon and then perform Stagger Kill. This Offensive technique works only with Brutes and Seekers. You can practice timing of those two attacks without involving enemy.
1:10 Grab anyone at full HP with or without Weapon
Sand Attack (as well as Smoke Bomb) allows you to grab with or without Weapon full HP enemies that normally resist it (Brute, Leader, Elite). Performing it on Brute and Leader is tricky, (because they are blinded shorter then others) but possible. Remember that grabbed enemy is a powerful projectile.
1:18 Disarming Attack
It is a Special Heavy Weapon Attack. Can't be dodged by anyone (even Ezio). If you would like to get rid of Small Weapon from your inventory it would had to be equipped during Disarming Attack (you'll need patience, because it happens rarely)
1:36 Smash Attack
It is a Special Heavy Weapon Attack. Only Ezio can dodge it.
Brutes are exceptionally vulnerable to Perfect Parry - it can be done easily using even Venetian Falchion (SPD 3, DEF 1).
