Thi and Kurt have fun introducing to you the very first Cultural Settlement! VIKINGS!

When you unlock the Cultural Settlements feature through researching Plowing in the Iron Age, a ship will appear on your shores. This ship will lead you to meet the clan leader, and the questline that you need to follow to build the settlement and its needs.

At the very beginning, you will find the Embassy building, and a lot of empty space and rocks in the surrounding area. Build residential buildings, goods buildings, and diplomacy buildings to get the settlement going. Invest in advancements and in expansions to grow, and aim for self-sustainability! This self-sustainability happens when you finish the entire questline, and means that you can finally depart and move on to another settlement.

Completing a settlement will earn you great rewards! The Vikings will reward you with Yggdrasil, a 3x3 upgradeable building with 9 levels! It produces resources and an attack boost! You can also earn emissaries, which is a new type of reward that boosts the output of the town hall in your main city. Completing the Vikings settlement in the allotted time will additionally give you fragments for the 2x2 upgradeable Greater Runestone building, which produces coins, medals, goods, Forge Points, and attack boosts!
