Iran’s regime is trying to create an environment of fear on the anniversary of the elimination of Qasem Soleimani. Soleimani was the former commander of the IRGC Quds Force. He was the head of the regime’s terrorist operations and a key figure in suppressing protests. He was killed in a drone strike in Iraq on January 3, 2020. The regime has engaged in propaganda campaigns as the anniversary of Soleimani’s death nears. These efforts are meant to portray a strong image of the regime against 100+ days of nationwide protests. But the people of Iran have a different message. They have been burning the banners of Qassem Soleimani and other regime icons across Iran. They are also targeting bases of IRGC Basij, the main force tasked with suppressing protests. Iran’s people are determined to overthrow this regime.
