This is Part 2 of a two-part seminar that Mike Mentzer conducted in Rexdale, Ontario on November 15, 1981. His presentation was extemporaneous and conducted in a classroom setting, with Mike standing before a chalk board on which he wrote down certain key points. I recorded this on cassette tape while seated in an audience of perhaps 70 people, so the sound quality is indicative of this (as opposed to say the pristine audio one would obtain from an in-studio interview). In this presentation (Part Two of two) Mike speaks of:

Alcohol
High-intensity training as a growth stimulus for muscle
How Casey Viator lost muscle and gained it all back during The Colorado Experiment
How Arnold lost muscle and could not gain it all back between the completion of the movie “Stay Hungry” and the 1975 Mr. Olympia contest
How intensity and duration exist in an inverse ratio to each other
How the muscle growth process is essentially the same in everyone
Why high-volume training divides the training stimulus between size/strength and endurance
Localized versus systemic recovery
The red and white muscle fibre issue
Hypertrophy versus Hyperplasia
The systemic effect of exercise on the body
A critical look at some conventional training beliefs
Why high-intensity training is not for the casual enthusiast
