FMP Music Disk Vol 1 (Full) PC-98 Music

Описание к видео FMP Music Disk Vol 1 (Full) PC-98 Music

The FMP Music Disks are a series of collections of music from various sources (hit songs, anime themes, video game music from various systems) all specially composed for the NEC PC-88/98, an early 16/32 bit Japanese computer system that used a sound chip similar to the one in many Sega Arcade machines from around the time, but with a few things that make it it's own unique sound chip. These were released on floppy disk and would contain dozens of songs, many of which are quite good.

You can find a very small number of select songs from these disks on youtube and various other similar sites (like 5 songs out of hundreds), but It's very very hard to find these things in a complete form. I was searching for these for weeks after hearing a track that I really liked that was titled FMP Music Disk vol 4 summer style. I eventually ended up tracking down raw data dumps on a super primitive and confusing database site called modland.com (mostly only known and used by chiptune musicians to share mods) and then spent weeks reading translated webpages trying to figure out how to listen to these .ozi files that I had found.

So, long story short, I'm making these videos so that this music can be easily accessed by anyone else that stumbles upon a killer groove from these disks and they want to check them out. No one else should have to go through all that work anymore. That said, these are pretty obscure items, and I have yet to find a track list for any of these, and would very much like to add titles and time stamps, I only recognize a handful of the songs on each disk so any help that I could get in that respect would be greatly appreciated.

Apologies in Advance for any clicky noises and windows sounds! I couldn't figure out anyway to record these other than winamp and obs, and for whatever reason OBS was picking up background noises even though I had muted windows system noises and my internet browser, and I'm not experienced enough to know how to prevent that. Thankfully the interruptions are infrequent and rarely obnoxious. I'll probably reupload better versions in the future, after I figure out what I'm doing.
