This month was special!!! The water temps started warming up a little more, and so did the weather outside. But more importantly, I learned one of the most tried and true techniques that you hear about in bass fishing, “The Texas Rig”. This ultimately changed the way I fish now. Catching most of my fish in my first season and half on ploppers was super exciting and thrilling. But it was also one dimensional and when water temps got cold, that wasn’t hitting anymore. So starting this season off would be different and I finally decided to put down the plop down and learn this technique since worms are always on a bass’s menu year round.

The funniest thing about this is, I had a plopper and jerk bait tied on to my poles and was explaining to Moises how Texas-Rigging/Shaky head was suppose to be a go-to on the water, so I tied on one Shaky for him and Alexa and I’m going on about worms and 10 minutes later, Alexa caught a chunker and as soon as she did, I tied a weedless wacky hook into a worm thinking it was “Texas rigging” and BOOOOOM!! they started hitting!!! After going home and watching a TR video, I realized I was rigged up hella wrong 🤦🏾‍♂️ but learning requires failure. Luckily I caught 4 while failing.
