A thematic program :Jamaica's pre-eminent folklorist, Louise "Miss Lou" Bennett (1919 - 2006), widely regarded as the Mother of Jamaican Culture, is interviewed in NYC in 1986, and discusses Jamaican language, cultural traditions & rituals, such as the "dinky minnie", Count Ossie, and the roots of reggae. This episode is co-hosted by Junior Wedderburn, master drummer and leader of Ancient Vibrations, a Jamaican musical theater troupe that explores and performs kumina, pocomania and nyabinghi music/dance traditions
