MonologueSlam UK is THE ultimate showcase for actors from all backgrounds and profiles. Open to everyone after a lengthy audition process, 20 actors are given the opportunity to perform for a welcoming audience and a panel of people in a position to move their careers forward.

In its fourth year, MonologueSlam UK has grown in scope and popularity. Maintaining that it should ALWAYS be free for actors to perform, TriForce have produced an event that takes talent that may not have access to the usual routes into the industry. Every event has an industry panel of at least four judges, all of whom are in the position to give actors a job!

We believe that ALL should have the opportunity to nurture their talent and have it shine, no matter what their circumstances, and experience has shown us that it is through these avenues that the freshest, untapped talent can be found.

There are many success stories that have occurred through MonologueSlam UK. Ryan Calais Cameron was scooped up by Clint Dyer for a lead role in The Westbridge at the Royal Court (his professional theatre debut), Chizzy Akodolu was seen performing at MonologueSlam UK by BBC Casting Director Liz Stoll before winning her role on Holby City and many actors have secured representation after performing at the event.

MonologueSlam UK was launched in London in December 2008 simply to provide a FREE platform for actors to practice their craft and improve their performance skills. Our primary aim is to create an environment where actors can network and support each other but most importantly learn, develop and BE COMPETITIVE. We feel that most actors in the UK can go 3-5 months without having an audition, which causes nerves and can affect your next audition. So by preparing for our event every other month we offer them the chance to treat it like a casting. Because let's face it, to perform in front of any audience especially with an industry panel, still requires the effort and discipline you would put in if you had a casting for the Royal Court or the BBC.

The event has attracted some of the UK's top directors such as Nick Bagnall, Paulette Randall, Phillip Hedley, Gregory Thompson, Topher Campbell and James Dacre, as well as BBC casting directors, Sarah Hughes, Ben Cogan, Nicky Bligh and John Cannon. We also attract well-known actors such as actors such as Will Johnson, James Alexandrou, Chucky Venn and Iconic comedian Lenny Henry, and of course, resident Host and Co -- Managing Director of TriForce Jimmy Akingbola

MonologueSlam UK has grown month after month in London and has become extremely popular with theatre lovers as well as those who want a fun night out. In 2013 we began a new partnership with Theatre Royal Stratford East. MonologueSlam UK is now a bi-monthly event in Stratford East's main house, a 400 seater venue, with a brand new round for 11-16 year olds.
