Of all the medieval military-religious orders, the Templars are by far the most famous. For better or for worse, these warrior-monks have a legacy that has far outlived their dissolution in 1312. But what was the Order of the Temple really all about? In this video, we'll explore the real, historical Templars, discussing their origins, their purpose, their activities, their place in the wider medieval world, and, of course, their rather dramatic end.
