At first, we have the NETGEAR Nighthawk RAXE300. The fastest router we have tested is this one, if you're prepared to crank everything up to 11. The matte black, curved spacecraft design is a touch more covert than your typical gaming equipment, but those wings have numerous antennas for a strong signal all across your house. This Nighthawk RAXE300 router supports Wi-Fi 6E on the 2.4-GHz, 5-GHz, and 6-GHz bands. And for two weeks of testing, it provided faultless, quick Wi-Fi with no difficulties while managing a rotating mix of four concurrent gaming and video streaming streams. Also, the Nighthawk app for the device is fantastic and provides band splitting, guest network settings, and a variety of analytical features. Likewise, Bitdefender Antivirus for your devices and Bitdefender VPN for usage away from home are both included with the Netgear Armor.
Next is Asus RT-AX82U. At a reasonable $199, the Asus RT-AX82U delivers a solid compromise between Wi-Fi 6 throughput and gaming capability, all in a stylish, manageably small size. The impressive frame rates, the availability of gaming-specific QoS settings, and the built-in security all caught our attention. Moreover, you have RGB lighting that is Aura-compatible, which some people will like, but you can easily turn it off. Just be aware that there aren't any WTFast alternatives and that your Ethernet and USB options are constrained. Wi-Fi 6E is also absent from this setup, although at this price, we wouldn't have expected it, since the great majority of devices aren't yet able to utilize the 6 GHz band. Another feature we enjoyed was ASUS AiMesh, a special mesh networking technology that uses numerous ASUS routers to build a whole-home network. It can be set up with any of your AiMesh-capable routers thanks to simple central control and seamless roaming. Also, it has Trend Micro's AiProtection Pro, powered by Trend Micro, to protect your network from outside threats and receive automated updates.
Next up, we have the Asus ROG Rapture GT-AXE11000. The first Wi-Fi 6E router to be made available was the ROG Rapture GT-AXE11000 from Asus, and it demonstrates that adopting a new standard early is not without its challenges. The exceptionally fast Wi-Fi throughput, simplicity of setup, built-in security, support for OutFox, a service that offers lower gaming latency, and versatility in the wired ports that allow link aggregation are all strengths of this router. ROG engineers reduced the distance between the motherboard connectors and the antennas in order to decrease power loss and increase coverage. And each of the eight antennas, especially the four 6GHz antennae, is well separated from its neighbors thanks to an unique antenna design that maximizes the signal strength in all directions. Also, its new 6GHz power amplifier improves the signal's quality and strength. And what's more, even the busiest WiFi 6E network is not a problem for the 1.8GHz 64-bit quad-core Processor with 1GB RAM since parallel processing speeds up data handling from many devices.
