Sex Education | Asa Butterfield, Emma Mackey & Ncuti Gatwa on Netflix's Must-See Series

Sex Education is Netflix’s best new show of 2019, and we chat to stars Asa Butterfield (Otis), Ncuti Gatwa (Eric), and Emma Mackey (Maeve), about the raunchy, hilarious and heartfelt new show that has everyone talking about sex.

The three actors talks about how the amazing reaction to the show from Netflix audiences has been. They also talk about the surprising trajectory of the characters, from comedic to poigniant, awkward and intimate. The sex scenes were not at strange to the actors as the cast and crew were very professional rather than prudish.
They also talk about having fun on set, and how they bonded on set and became friends throughout the season. This is a far cry from the usual, drab British drama and is influenced by American high school dramas.

Butterfield also plays a mean game of Super Smash Bros, and there are other hidden talents they reveal in this interview.

The eight episode season one stars Gillian Anderson, Asa Butterfield, Emma Mackey, Aimee Lou Wood, Ncuti Gatwa, Connor Swindells, Kedar Williams-Stirling, Alistair Petrie, Mikael Persbrandt and Tanya Reynolds

Plot:
Socially awkward high school student Otis may not have much experience in the lovemaking department, but he gets good guidance on the topic in his personal sex ed course -- living with mom Jean, who is a sex therapist. Being surrounded by manuals, videos and tediously open conversations about sex, Otis has become a reluctant expert on the subject. When his classmates learn about his home life, Otis decides to use his insider knowledge to improve his status at school, so he teams with whip-smart bad girl Maeve to set up an underground sex therapy clinic to deal with their classmates' problems. But through his analysis of teenage sexuality, Otis realizes that he may need some therapy of his own.
