I decided to check out the latest Humble Bundle, Humble Indie Bundle 8, and I was VERY happy with the selection I had with this package. I had been wanted to see what Dear Esther was about for a while, so this was a great opportunity. I encourage you to check out these indie titles that are advertised as something that isn't really a usual video game experience. The game Journey, which has a playthrough on my channel as well, was created with a very similar idea to Dear Esther. They both appear to focus on art, story, and perception by the player more than they do any other elements that are found in the game. The soundtrack, along with the amazing narration, make this game unique and emotional from start to finish. I felt many things when playing this my first, second, third, and fourth time through. There are supposedly many different variations of the game you can experience. The "gameplay" is roughly the same, but the narrations change, some of the in game material can change, and new things can be discovered.
I encourage you all to watch the entire video without any concern for scary parts. Although the game does have a few creepy moments, there is nothing that really jumps out at you. My first playthrough had me worried that something WOULD jump out at me, but that feeling goes away after the first 20 minutes or so. However, I encourage you to watch this video and see if you can spot the ghosts that appear in it. I only spotted two during my playthrough on here, so good luck.
