Today Top Hat Gaming Man talks about Marvel Super Heroes, the 1995 Infinity War Video game.

Intro
Hello Ladies and Gentlemen, Big Daddy Top Hat here! Welcoming you to another exciting episode of Fighting Game Thursday! The show where we regularly look at different fighting games, now spanning nearly 70 episodes. That's a bloody lot of fighters, ladies and gents! In today's content we are going to take a deep dive look at the first-ever fighting game that would allow gamers to play as a whole host of different characters from the Marvel Universe, thus enabling gamers to pit their favourites against one another in the most ambitious cross over in the world of superhero games yet.

This title ladies and gentlemen was special and an important stepping stone that would lead to the Marvel vs Capcom cross over fighting games down the line. While cross overs are now common practise in the world of movies and video games today, back then these sort of events felt even more exciting and significant as a result. Not only that, but this novel title would storywise be based around, Thanos and the Infinity Gauntlet, a marvel story that would become embedded in popular culture with the Avengers Infinity War cross over movie, which was not only the most profitable Super Hero movie of all time. But the fourth most profitable movie of all time, full stop. Over twenty years prior to this massive commercial success, the most ambitious cross over in history existed in high-quality video game form. This ladies and gentlemen is the Mad Story of Marvel Super Heroes, The Infinity War Fighting Game! Yeaaaaaaaaahhhhhhhh.

We have looked at the history of the relationship between Marvel and Capcom, many times on here in the past. We have analysed every game released pitting Marvel Super Heroes against Capcom fighters and we have looked at the birth of the relationship between the pairing with the release of the Punisher Arcade game. The Punisher would obviously be followed up with Xmen Children of the Atom, a game that functioned as both the first Marvel Fighting game and first character cross over with Capcom, as the game included Street Fighter's Akuma as a playable fighter.
