Gorges du Loup, Road D6, Maritime Alps, France - by motorcycle

Описание к видео Gorges du Loup, Road D6, Maritime Alps, France - by motorcycle

The village of Pont du Loup is located at the southern end of the Gorge du Loup (Wolf Gorge), which leads from here about 11 km north to the villages of Le Tourounet / Gréolières. The well-maintained and easy to drive D2 road is mostly near the bottom of the valley next to the Loup River. The road changes the valley side several times on bridges and also leads through some tunnels. At the beginning, near Pont du Loup, west above are the waterfalls Cascades de l'aqueduc du Foulon and about 4 km further north the waterfalls Cascade de Courmes and
Cascades du Saut du Loup. Saut du Loup is impressive but can only be visited with a fee.

The village of Pont du Loup takes its name from an impressive railroad bridge built here in 1892 that spanned the valley in 10 arches. The bridge was blown up in 1944 and further deconstructed in the 1950s. Today, the bridge piers and approach ramps can still be seen.

The road is located in the province of Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur and there in the department of Alpes-Maritimes / Maritime Alps.
