David Bowie : Fame with Matt Sweeney of Chavez and Guitar Moves COUCH RIFFS

Matt Sweeney stopped by this week and was an amazing hang on Couch Riffs. An incredibly talented and humble guy, he's played on a long list of some of the coolest recordings of the last 30 years (Johnny Cash, Neil Diamond, Cat Power) and toured with bonafide legends (Iggy Pop and Cat Stevens). Matt filled me in on some of his back story, being a publicist in the 90s and we talked a lot about luck and fortune in the music industry. Honestly, it was difficult to hone this conversation down to a matter of less than 7 minutes with over 40 minutes of dense conversation.
Matt's own guitar series, "Guitar Moves", was a huge influence and inspiration to me in jumping in and pursuing doing Couch Riffs interviews and he, of course, approached the subject with positivity and an unpretentious attitude even though he's interviewed some of the most important electric guitarists in history. Matt was incredibly encouraging to me, as well. Because, as we agreed, it doesn't pay to be a dick.
